A special announcement has been made by Square Enix regarding this release.
Like many great games, this title too saw many revisions in development. The game was originally released by LucasArts for the PC in 1990 and was licensed by Square Enix to distribute the title on the 16-bit family of Final Fantasy games on the PlayStation and other platforms.
This release on the Nintendo DS, Playstation Portable, and iOS platforms is not only a port of the original title, but is also including a new visual and gameplay system called Retro-Vision.

20th Anniversary Edition includes the original Two Worlds and The World of the Four Winds in addition to the new Cloud World and Ocean World.

Retro-Vision:
This is a new game system that re-imagines Final Fantasy games in the arcades in a modern 2D level. Players can choose from «normal,» «easy,» «medium» or «hard» controls. There are also options for «action,» «standard,» and «story» playstyles.

Story Mode:
* Arcade mode where the player challenges his or her skills against the clock.
* Player that scores the most points in the arcade mode is the winner.
* Players can experience new scenarios and encounters with characters they’ve met before.

CORE RELEASE: FINAL FANTASY I & FINAL FANTASY II
Two Worlds and the World of the Four Winds were first released on the Nintendo Famicom system by Square on June 21, 1990 for ¥4,800. The versions of Two Worlds and the World of the Four Winds for the Nintendo Famicom were later re-released on a few occasions.
The disks were first released in Japan on the Famicom Advanced in 1992 for ¥4,800. Some versions of the game released on Sega CD included the title «Final Fantasy: Journey to the End of the Night,» the sequel to Final Fantasy, and the game «Final Fantasy: Legend of Mana.»
This release was re-released in 1999 on the PlayStation for ¥2,200. The PlayStation version included Square’s music CD, and two new Final Fantasy VII tracks were added.
